Gilbert 3.81 ERA vs Kikuchi 5.02 with control problems

Logan Gilbert (12-11, 3.81 ERA, 1.10 WHIP, 197 K in 182 IP) faces Yusei Kikuchi, who carries a 5.02 ERA and 1.55 WHIP and has walked 12 batters over his last 14.1 innings. Seattle already shelled Kikuchi on Sept. 16 for five runs and five walks in 4.1 innings, and the Mariners are 41-37 at T-Mobile Park. Both clubs are eliminated, so the edge is the arm on the mound rather than motivation.
